- I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT with the famous 2.4 Toyota oil burner. I have been a stickler on Maintenance changing the oil every 3 k.miles.So far at 76k miles it’s not burning any oil I’ve been using a synthetic blend oil will I hurt anything by going full Synthetic? Is the Vibe less reliable than the Toyota Matrix?

Changing to full synthetic probably won't hurt anything at that mileage. I bit the bullet 23,000 miles ago and put full synthetic in a Ford Ranger with 251,000 miles at the time and it has never caused a problem. I'm not sure about reliability. Since practically everything in the drivetrain in that car is the same as the Toyota Matrix, I'd say it'll be significantly more reliable than your run-of-the-mill 2009 GM house products.

Matrix and Vibe are basically the same car. Just different branding.
