I have a 1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 6 speed manual transmission with 105000 miles. I had a bad evap purge solenoid and it was causing a P1441 Evaporative Emission Control System Continuous Open Purge Flow and P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected. I replaced the evap/vapor canister purge solenoid and the vacuum/purge valve switch for good measure since it was connected to the solenoid. It solved those codes, however it brought another: P0441 EVAP System Incorrect Purge Flow. I noticed when I replaced the evap solenoid and switch that there was loose black pebbles in them. I dug around lt1 forums and one suspected that it could be a busted charcoal canister. Yet, I am still trying to diagnose this before I make a decision. Should I replace the charcoal canister and see what happens?
What about hoses?
I checked the hoses and it everything is connected properly. Now if they are clogged I dont know. It doesn't seem like it.
You cannot know because you can't see inside.
Hey I just wanted to let you know I solved all my Evap system problems. It wasnt clogged thank God but I had to replace all 4 parts to my evap system especially the charcoal canister. Thank you
Should I replace the charcoal canister
