Engine has 125,000 as it was rebuilt at 129,000.
Transmission has 254,000. The transmission makes clunking noise Sometimes when I reverse the car after it has been driving forward. It does not have any issue if Reverse is the first direction I attempt. I have been unable to duplicate in the presence of a mechanic when I took it into shop.
I am worried it is going to break and leave me stranded. With the engine having low mileage, I feel the car is worth keeping around. Is this problem something any of you have experienced? Is this something I should rebuild or look for a new/used tranny to swap out?
Thank you,
bryan
Well reverse is always the first gear to go out in those things it's obviously wearing but I mean if you can park so you don't have to reverse much it'll put less wear on it. Because the transmission is not cheap on those things to have rebuilt correctly and they can often last year's that way
