Hello! 2009 Toyota Matrix, base model 1.8L. I've been noticing in the morning, every morning for the past several months, the stereo system numbers and screen is fading. It does come back to its normal digital appearance after it warms up for about 5 minutes, and later in the day it is fine when I start the car. Seems to be worsening, but again it's only in the morning. The battery is new and the stereo/radio works fine, it's just the digital appearance. Car starts up fine, too. What could be the problem and/or is there a deeper problem with a diminishing/fading stereo screen face? Thanks.
The LCD screen is old, probably some increased electrical resistance in the panel . . Old and slow, most likely.
i couldnt find anything either except folks seem to be replacing them instead of repair
Probably much cheaper to replace than repair- and you can put in an aftermarket one with all the bells and whistles. The screen on my Matrix isn't fading so far, but I've been thinking of putting in something new. Scotty put an aftermarket stereo in his Matrix, and said it was a big improvement.
alrighty, thank you. As long as it's working I'm just gonna leave it as is. But when the time comes I will replace it altogether. Scotty system does look good.
