Hey Scotty
i have a 2009 Toyota Sienna LE with 134,159 miles. Monday morning after backing out of my parking space the ABS and VSC Trac Off lights came on. After Driving to work the lights turned off. But they came back on later that day again after backing out. The light have now been on for the last 2 days. What could the problem be?
thanks for your help
Scan the ecu for codes and post them here.
Is the check engine light on also? I had those 3 lights on and it was a worn out gas cap! It's a cheap fix if that's the problem. Over tighten the gas cap and see if it shuts off (or go buy another gas cap)
@rachel-compton. How long after replacing your gas cap did the lights go off?
My husband has a code reader thing so we were able to clear the code with that but I think it may be like 50 miles or so that it will go off on its own if that was the issue? Mine was also a 2009 that it did this own and my mothers 2003 camry did the same thing.
Also completely off topic but check for recalls with your vin number! The spare tire cable, shift solenoid, and there's an oil cooler hose that are recalled on these years. The oil hose cooler line is up to 150k miles I think but we just took my moms 2007 (with 180k) and they did the recall for free so it's worth a try. You can google "recall by vin" I usually use the nhtsa.org site, then call any local toyota dealership to schedule for them to do the recall stuff. I didnt take my 09 in until it had 250k miles and they still did the spare tire and shift solenoid (I do not remember if the oil cooler hose had already been replaced or not) But the oil cooler hose is probably the most important! Originally it was a rubber hose which can degrade and crack open, spilling all your oil out!)
