2010 CRV is consuming oil at least 2 quarts between oil changes, Honda extended the warranty for 8 years or 125,000 miles as this is a typical issue with this model. I am currently at 75,000k and past the 8 year warranty.....Are there any alternatives to replacing the piston rings? Sounds expensive. Honda should have done a recall! FAIL!!
Unfortunately, if the piston rings are worn out, rebuilding or swapping the engine is the only solution.
a recall would have been the honest way, they surely know which engines received the defective rings
in their letter that a few folks received, they dont consider it to be "excessive" unless you are burning one quart or more per 1000 miles :chuckle:
when you buy Honda, the last thing that you would think of is defective parts
