2010 BMW X5 Starting issues

Scotty,

I have a 2010 BMW X5 3.0 with 75K miles on it. It is a regular V6 not a turbo. Recently, I have started having issues with it starting. I have to crank it 3 to 4 times before it will start. Sometimes it starts and dies out right away. ( I replaced the battery last year). On occasion I will get a check engine light. I am not a mechanic so I took it to the dealer and, I do not have a code reader. The first time they changed some oil sensor under the valve cover because that was the code that came up. The second time, they changed the fuel pump. They said it was losing fuel pressure. I drove it for a few days and it seemed to be fixed. Yesterday, the vehicle started doing the same thing. I'm at a loss and very frustrated that the dealer cannot figure this out. I'm about $2K into the repairs they already did and still the vehicle is not fixed. I don't want to keep spending money and guessing. Have you ever had any issues like this? If so, do you have any idea what it could be?

Well now you know why I tell people not to buy x-fives they are big money wasters as they age as people say.if it eventually starts I would personally live with it because it can be anything from the fuel injectors not being pulsed right to the ignition system not operating right for the fuel pump not operating right and those BMWs are just insane for diagnosis.they can only truly be diagnosed by a man with a BMW dealer level scan tool which costs a small fortune that's why I tell people not to buy them they're just money pits as they age. Yes and this is a big gift you can find a BMW mechanic who is in a complete crock have them at least diagnose it but you may never be able to find one because they have so much overhead they have to charge a fortune
