I have a 2010 chevy cobalt. It shifts super rough and at times wont shift at all. The speedometer does not work although all the other gauges work. The electric power steering is out. are there any fixes I can do to fix it for not to expensive? Are there any diagnostics I can do before I send it to an expert? I saw that you can get some wire and ground the tcm directly to the body I did that and it worked fine for literally a mile before it all broke again. Please help. Thank you.

Unfortunately those cars were not very well made. However since you had some temporary results grounding the TCM you might want to check all of the grounds that you can access. Bad grounds cause all kinds of crazy electrical glitches.
