Hi Scotty,

I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500, LS, 4.8L automatic transmission, 4x4 crew cab, 250,000km. I have the code P1682 since 3 yrs. In summer, the check engine light goes off (not always), in winter the code is on all the time. My battery doesn't last more than 1.5 year. Last winter, I had to recharge over 15 times...alternator is working fine.

Where do I start?

Thank for your answer!
After some digging in the info you supplied, I think my situation is a little different. My truck is still starting without hesitation. I didn't experience any trouble to start my truck other then a low battery in the peak of the winter. I'm pretty sure its not the inition switch. I will open the fuse box under the hood and start checking all the relays and fuses, and hoping nothing is loose in the socket. Thank for the info, it narrow my search!!

I've seen some people in the forums have had to replace the fuse block. good luck
