Hello Everybody,
My parents have a 2010 Chyrsler Town & Country with around 165,000 miles on it. We live in the vegas area and summer time has hit, which means it's extra hot and the van has a harder time starting up every once and while. It's been doing it for years, but it eventually started. This time around though, it is not.
The van is getting power and was, until recently, driven regularly. When the phob is turned, the lights turn on the dashboard, then the van just has a simple and distinct "thud" noise. I don't hear the starter doing anything. Nothing is turning over and it's just a simple "thud" noise. I'm not exactly sure where to start with diagnosing as I don't have much information to work with as I don't drive it very often.
Is it possible the engine has finally given up? It does burn a decent amount of oil but we've regularly topped up on it for awhile. Power steering is going out too. Any help is appreciated.
