I have a 2010 crown Victoria police interceptor that steams from the back of the engine and I can hear sizzling when I park it after getting to normal operating temp and using the heat. There are no obvious leaks what could it be if it is a hose in the back by the transmission?
Could be a leaking core plug.

How would I diagnose that
Check location of core plugs in your shop manual. Physically inspect them for corrosion and leakage. (If you cannot use an inspection mirror or camera for rear core plugs you'd probably need to pull the transmission out to access them.)
I know this sounds odd, but I live where the temp gets below 0 and we have freezing rain and snow. I let the car thaw out for an hour or 2 and the issue went away.. very odd
If you have a leak back there you'd be losing coolant, is that happening?
Pressure test the cooling system to see if it leaks, and from where.
