A coworker has a 2010 Fusion automatic, and asked if/where she should have her trans fluid changed.
It has 66,000 miles, and has no shifting issues. Her intent is to keep the vehicle as long as possible
She doesn't have a trusted mechanic, and usually gets service (oil, wipers, etc.) at chain service centers.
Should I recommend she spend the extra few dollars and have the transmission serviced at a Ford dealer?
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2006-2010 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ vehicles. The valves within the ABS Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) may react with brake fluids containing specific corrosion preventative additives. This reaction may cause the valves to not close properly.
@dvkala
Thanks so much!
She said she inherited the car a couple years ago, so there is a chance she never got a recall notice.
Happy to Help
