2010 Ford Fusion V6, ~50,000 kms. For the past few months, it's started to not start right away when turning the key. It turns over (cranks) but doesn't start. I then stop, wait 15sec and then retry and it starts right away. What could be causing this and will it continually get worse - highlighting a bigger problem?
I've changed air filter, battery is newer (I've tested with meter to show it's perfectly strong ~85% of its' life via CCA measurement).
Sorry just to clarify - it doesn't due this every time...sometimes (~70%) it starts right away as it should, other times (~30%), it's the scenario I mentioned that just started the past few months...I expect it to get worse though and here's my warning 😉
thanks but they don't seem to apply to my situation...it's not quite that bad as it has started every time so far, but appears like a problem is brewing...
You may have a weak fuel pressure. Pressure test the fuel pump.
Thx...but at only 50,000kms? Do Ford Fusion's have bad fuel pumps?
They are not that good. You may also have clogged fuel filter.
Ok, thx...I'll check both those out...I assume it's best to check fuel pressure first and if low, then check fuel filter?
Ok.
