I have a base model 2010 Toyota Matrix 1.8l 4 cyl. I bought some iridium NGK spark plugs with a gap of .44, but my book says .43. Does it need to be regapped to .43?
The gap is .043", not .43". If it were .43" it would be a little more than 3/8".

I'd say that .01" isn't going to make any difference, and the manual says "Do not adjust spark plug gap" on page 396 at the bottom.
The important part is that you got the good NGK iridium plugs - you should be good for the next 100K miles.
@glen_stet, that's .001", not .01"
