There is a retired police dodge charger for sale in my area it has cosmetic damage mostly scratches and dents. I Have been told it needs a brake switch, and a transmission control module. It's the v6, rwd ,2010 ,100000 miles on it . It's selling for 1800 is it worth fixing? Also says it has a rough idle. Thanks
Thanks for the replies I passed on it.
Have you seen the way police drive those things? Jumping curbs and stuff. Try watching a few Youtube videos.
a transmission control module.
Did you look up the cost of replacing and programming one? That could be well over $1,000.
Does the vehicle even drive? How can you be sure that's ALL that's wrong with the transmission. Usually when a TCM dies, the transmission starts to burn itself out. A transmission replacement could be just on the horizon.
It might be worth it. I can't give you an accurate answer on that with the information you've given.
Somebody experienced who really knows what they're doing would have to go over the car with a fine toothed comb.
I would pass on it.
That sounds like an astonishingly bad idea.
I wouldn't even bother considering this vehicle.
