2010 Scion XB

I changed my oil recently,  after it was changed the new oil came out black on the dipstick. I was told that my engine is dirty and that  I should use Royal purple to clean it. I change my oil every 5k miles. MY scion has 157k miles.   I was previously using synthetic blend  I suspect sludge is bulding up??  I would like to know what your opinion is. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Did you warm up the engine before draining the oil? Did you use the oil pan drain plug, or a suction device? Did you let it drain all the way?

If yes, then it's probably just old oil stuck in the dipstick tube. Dip and wipe several times to get a more accurate reading.

I can't see why, unless something is contaminating the oil (fuel, water, etc.)
