Hi Scotty,

Scott here.

I have a 2010 Scion xB, vvt-I 16 valve, 2.4 L engine with 142,000 miles on it.
I have put all miles on, I am original owner, purchased new.
I have watched many of your videos, especially the Scion xB related, thanks for your service!
Have done all oil, fluid, and maintenance recommended religiously since the odometer had 10 miles on it.

I am also having slight oil burning, which you have touched on a lot before.
But I am having a different issues, not able to figure out as of yet..?

I have always drove the car very gentle and have never been hard on the car, ever. People say I drive like a grandma.

Between 38-43mph or so, at 1800-2000rpm, between that gear shift or around that speed, I get a vibration, and what feels like slight hesitation. only happens at that speed area.

I’m not a car specialist, but at first felt and sounded like a broken bearing or something of that nature.
but noticed it happens around that gear shift at 38-43mph or so at 1800rpm- 2000rpm.
But if I go above 2300rpm or so at that gear shift, if goes through smoothly.

Since happening around gear shift, thought possibly transmission.
So I took it to 2 separate mechanics, one being a transmission shop.
They drove the car, checked it out and said they couldn’t feel anything and transmission was fine..?
But I can feel it when I drive.

They changed the valve cover gasket and a couple spark plugs, but still having the issue for awhile now.

Any recommendations or ideas on what the possible issue could be?

Thanks so much for your time and advice, helps a lot.

We would like to have this car go as long as possible. My wife and I share the vehicle, and really need it to last.

Thanks again Scotty,

your the man!

At least get it scanned for any codes as a start.
