Hello, I have a 2010 Corolla 1.8 I live in Canada (Toronto) I bought my car at 90,000km used the second owner it is at 265,000km now and ever since I bought it I have been using mobil1 synthetic motor oil (5w-20) on it and now I am wondering should I switch over to high mileage synthetic motor oil or just stick to regular synthetic motor oil.

Thank you.

If it's not consuming any oil in between oil changes, I'd stick with regular oil - mobil synthetic oil is about as good an oil as you can buy.. I have an 09 of about the same mileage, it doesn't use any oil in between changes, and I would hesitate to change to a "high mileage" oil until/unless there was a reason. Worry about your trans fluid or coolant instead.

Hi thank you for the reply it's not using any oil in between and I had my transmission fluid and coolant changed as well (transmission fluid a couple of months ago and coolant 2 weeks ago).

Great, you're good to go. Now all we have to worry about is flat tires, parking tickets and the other drivers.

Thank you Glen_stet ! The power of the corolla.
