Hi Scotty and everyone! Kind of weird but I was driving and my back left tire went completely flat. We went to a tire shop to get it checked, no holes were found, the valve wasn't damaged. Not sure what could have caused it. Thanks!!
Oops, just to clarify only the back left tire went flat.
Could be your rims. Have you tried the soapy water test on them, when cold?
I have not done that but I will look into it, thank you!
Do you know where I could find a tutorial or something to check?
thank you
Quick question, the tires are filled again and they haven't gone flat since. Could it still be an issue with the rims?
In that case, like @mountainmanjoe suggested, check the bead seal for any debris which may be trapped & causing air to escape. Have they been driven since you filled up?
sorry, got a little busy, no I haven't driven it yet. This happened about 2 weeks ago now, I'll check the bead seal for any debris though!
did you hit something that might have briefly separated the tire from the rim?
I don't think I hit something but that may be the problem, I'll check the rims I didn't know that!
the rim might look perfectly fine. If there's enough sideways pressure on a tire, air can escape the bead seal. Or I've seen small stones get trapped there too.
oh ok thank you
If there is surface rust on the inside of the rim sometimes it can cause the tire to not seal properly. To fix it you just simply grind the rust off the edge.
If the tire shop cannot find the leak maybe you should try another tire shop.
Maybe rust is the problem. I haven't driven the car consistently for about 3 months. It does have some rust on the rim so actually that could be the issue.
Sounds like the tire bead lost its seal to the rim after not being driven.
