I have a 2010 Toyota tundra 5.7 v8 with an 115k miles and the traction control comes on flashing and I cant go past 50mph but car revs to 4000rpm. After several times turning car off and on then it drives normally. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

just hooked it up to a scanner but no trouble codes are showing up

Anything in live data that looks suspicious?

You didn't say what kind of scanner was used but typically you need a professional-grade, dealer-level scan tool to diagnose traction control systems. An inexpensive generic OBD2 code reader is usually not sufficient.

@chucktobias my bluedriver reads VSC codes but not transmission codes.. it's weak in that area

@hixster There's a lot of variation, it depends on the vehicle and the scan tool.

Hook up a scan tool and see what the codes are..

@hixster you must retrieve the trouble code(s)...

@mj1 If the light is flashing you should have codes, use a better/different scan tool.
