Scotty, love the show as always! Listen my 2011 Acura MDX SHAWD (Original Owner) 140k. Maryland Car. Best car I have ever owned (bar recall headache). Sometimes (not all the time) When I give her a little gas and theres a load, say I’m backing up hilly driveway, I get this slapping/tapping at lowest pedal. Meaning, tiny bit of gas, car starts to tight up against itself and maybe hasn't moved yet, but you can feel it trying. Tap tap tap ok moving tap gone. Done this at least since the 80k mark. Its had the warranty recall on piston rings done.

I’m split between an engine piston tap noise vs say all wheel drive/Tranny noise or a shield. The taps are about 2 per second. Gotta kill the radio to hear it clearly inside the car. Maybe louder when more gas is given though the push. I can make it do it only under steep incline start or break load. Tiny bit of gas, remember Just a feather and hold break. Otherwise you will not hear it any other time.

Maybe you have some ideas? I doubt it’s a “problem” hasn’t gotten worse in 80k miles but it might become one. Just wanna get her to 300k. All service has been religious.
