Scotty, really enjoy your youtube channel. Listen I have a 2011 MDX, 140k miles. I am original owner. Acura rebuilt pistons under a huge recall due to oil slipping past the rings. Runs like a top, except, theres a delay in fuel delivery when turning the key. Mechanic suggests it’s something in the fuel pump which is in the tank. I believe the filter is in the tank also.
Installed a new heavy duty super duper battery also. Fancy one from battery's plus two years ago. No change.
Insert Key and start, chugalug - struggles to get fuel and finally starts.
or
Insert Key, wait for fuel needle to register and noise from pump, then it starts fine. Turns over perfect.
If I use the dealer installed remote start, it turns over fine also. That seems to replicate the pause/delay.
Sometimes I can hop in and start no problem. Cold.
Worth Mentioning - I have a strange ticking sound from what sounds like a relay or motor on damper under steering column, seems to only happen in spring and fall when AC or heat is flipping back and fourth. Click click - Click click click. Hear it at stop lights.
Oddest of all, if I put my fingers to the screws on the back of the steering wheel, I get shocked. Little zaps.

I would assume the fuel pumps just starting to wear out I would replace that and of course check the wiring going to it too I'd also change the fuel pump relay when I change the pump it's best to change those in pairs and change the fuel filter to
TY!! Been a great car. Wanna run it to 300k.
