Hey Scotty (and friends),
Over the winter my driver side door window switches stopped working except for the drivers door window switch itself. I can't roll down the passenger or rear windows from the driver/master switches. The windows will go up/down using their respective switches. The fact that the driver door switch works fine makes me think its not just an issue with the driver door switch board. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Hey Scotty,
After ordering a replacement master window switch assembly for the drivers side door, I disovered that wasn't the problem at all. At some point my mechanic pulled the battery to reset something on the car, and this is what caused the problem with the master switch not working on the passenger/rear windows. To fix it you have to reset the switches which is accomplished by running each window all the way down and holding the switch down for four seconds, then roll up the window and hold the switch up for four seconds. Viola, this fixed my problem. Wish I didn't spend $40 on the master switch replacement 🙁
I assume this issue is not unique to the Avalon
Well as they age sometimes when the weather changes switches don't work and when it gets warm they do it's showing the switches are bad. Just be logical when you analyze them if they move with one switch and not another then odds are the other switches have gone bad
