I brought my car in to a shop for all 6 spark plugs to be replaced for scheduled maintenance. I was told that the intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced as well due to it having the tendency to break upon removal.
Are they right or is it an upsell? Thanks.

I would never even consider not using a new gasket when removing and replacing an intake manifold. Leaks there will cause all kinds of problems.
