Hi Scotty. I have a 09 Pontiac vibe with the 1.8 L engine and 192,000 miles. It started dying while at stop lights, eventually leading to a crank no start condition. New spark plugs, coil packs, cleaned or replaced injectors. Still no start. Replaced camshaft position sensor, still no start. New fuel pump/filter, still no start. Cleaned maf sensor, still no start. Compression was about 80 psi in 2 cylinders and about 100 in 2 cylinders (don't know if I should trust these #s due to weak cranking...)
Codes that we're triggered we're usually misfire on various cylinders, which would randomly go away.
Could a faulty crankshaft position sensor cause a no start? I know it's getting fuel and air, so spark is what's missing, but I'm just not sure why it isn't there...
Well it could be a bad crankshaft. If it's not that do my video fixing the car that cranks but doesn't start up
