tire recommendation ( 205 55r 16 ) for 2005 Pontiac Vibe 297,000 miles

Hi Scotty, I am looking for tires for not more than $100 each for my 2005 Pontiac Vibe with 297,000 miles. I have to drive on hilly and often wet Seattle roads. Please recommend what to buy. Thank you!

It's Pontiac Vibe base with FWD

At under $100 each you'll be looking at a low-end budget tires. You might want to go a little higher in price, I've used General Altimax tires for years and found them to be very good. Your size at tirerack.com is $116 each:

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=AltiMAX+RT45&partnum=055HR6AMRT45

If you do need to stay under that $100 each maximum, WalMart offers a set of 4 Goodyear Assurance tires that size for just under $400:

Avoid no-name Chinese tires at all costs.

I second Chuck's recommendation, per usual. The Goodyear Assurances came as standard on my 09 Matrix (same car, different badges), and have given me excellent service over 100K + miles. Not a big fan of Walmart, but if you want good tires for less than $100/each, they are the place to go.

Have you browsed around your local tire stores? Did they provide any quotes?

if not, start there.

Don’t get scammed by fb marketplace.
