Oil Dilution 2012 Chevy Equinox 4 cyl CVT transmission flex fuel?
Oil smells like gas. Smelled the oil fill cap and it has a heavy gas smell. Had the high pressure fuel pump replaced and it still smells like gas after a couple weeks of intermittent highway/city driving. Heard GF6 oil helps with oil dilution. Oil was changed with the install of the high pressure fuel pump. It drives great and the body is in excellent condition. I can probably get around $2,000 for the car by selling it to a dlr or Carvana. Should I drive the vehicle and hope for the best or sell it right away? Thanks in advance!
It has 108,500 miles on it. Does that change your recommendation or not? Thanks again!
Scotty does not revisit topics he has already answered. I would say his recommendation stands regardless. In fact that mileage is around the time you can usually start expecting problems. Those vehicles are not made for long-term ownership.

Scotty usually answers questions once and doesn't revisit them.It has 108,500 miles on it. Does that change your recommendation or not?
You have an engine mixing gas with oil in a Equinox. They are known to have engine and transmission problems. Many engines don't make it to 100k miles and need repair, so it would still be a "sell"
An Equinox is not really a car you want to hold on to for a long time. 100k sounds like a good time to cut loose.
Well, I'd probably sell it because either the engine of the transmission will crap out soon from my experience

For your information, Scotty does not usually answer follow up questions. That thing will be blowing a motor or a tranny sooner or later. Better sell it while it's worth something, I 100% agree with Scotty.
