I Have a 1987 Buick Electra T-type 3.8, Automatic Transmission with 66,000 original miles on it. It doesn't like to start without using starting fluid it will just crank like it's not getting fuel, once I spray it with starting fluid it will start and run ok, but it will idle high at 2000 rpms. I've already replaced the idle air control valve and manually adjusting the idle to try to fix the high idle but no luck, and I can't figure out why it won't start without me spraying it first but will still run ok, do you think these problems are related? what else should I try? Please help. Thank you.

A lot of things can cause those kind of symptoms. What diagnostic steps have you taken so far aside from throwing an IAC valve (hopefully OEM) at it?
