2011 Ford Fusion SEL AWD
115k miles - how easy is it to replace transfer case oil?
Been told by a mechanic that its such a horrific job that I should just buy a new transfer case which seems really expensive.
Any thoughts (apart from changing mechanic)
I live in Murfreesboro just south of Nashville TN

I am assuming you are meaning the PTU (power transfer unit). It is hard but not impossible to change the fluid. I have been doing it every oil change on my Taurus. Probably a little excessive, I really don't want to have to change the PTU.
