Hello guys!
I need your help figuring out a good my next car.
I'm from Europe and in our market automatic cars are not so common, all my previous cars have been Honda's and 1 old w202 Merc, ATM I'm riding a 2.2 I-dtech Honda Civic but now the wife needs a car for commuting to work, I'm thinking of selling the Honda and get something automatic but not sure what to get.
My top budget is 13-16k (looking at the used market), just want something reliable and economical that I can count on for many years (and not a Prius 😆 ).
Stick to Toyota or Honda products.
Yeah, the more I search the market the more I come to that conclusion, she will have to get used to that, but my poor Honda is going to suffer 😆
A new clutch kit can’t be all that expensive..
Hello!
I have no experience with automatics. A year ago I bought 2018 manual Auris 1.33 VVTi with 16k km for 12500€. But I'm avare the engine won't hold more than 200k km. That's a disadvantage of Toyota's engines here, they do not hold long. I see diesels from VW group (VW, Audi, Škoda, SEAT) are being sold with more than 300k km on odo.
My another vote would go for Volvo if you can find a low mileage one for a reasonable price.
@dan has some good answers about some models. Check them out.
If your wife doesn't have much driving experience, I suggest she gets some driving lessons to refresh it within a driving school or an automotive club.
Good luck!
1. Do you/the missus need an automatic?
2. What are all your present options?
I've always driven stick, but the car will be mostly used by her and she doesnt have much experience driving I think that it would be better an automatic for her.
Currently I'm seeing a few Toyota Auris from 2014-15 Hybrid Petrol, Honda's automatic are rare here.
What do you think if those Auris?
Thanks guys
Avoid used hybrids as their repair bills may get expensive, quick. Stick to regular petrol vehicles (if you’re able to in your region, due to legislation).
Is it a tall order to ask your missus to learn to drive stick?
