Hi Scotty, Last year I bought a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 4dr with a 5.3 liter engine with 69,7400 miles on it; it now has 85,000. After I purchased the truck I heard nothing but horror stories about the 5.3 liter engine. I have been unable to find out what the normal operating oil pressure is. What the real issues with this motor is and how to prevent possible problems from occurring. Can you tell me about this years motor and what the normal oil pressure should be? My pressure is 36-42 psi at 210 degrees at 1200 to 2000 rpm's. Do you recommend keeping it or getting rid of it before anything goes wrong. Any insight will be appreciated. And good luck in TN.
I am not a fan of it but you're already own it and as old as it is you're not going to get much of you sell it so you might as well as drive it to the wheels fall off. Just changed it all every 5,000 mi or so and keep up with regular maintenance and pray quite a bit
