2011 Honda Accord EX L V6 poor gas mileage

I've been the owner of my 2011 Honda Accord since brand new, and overall it's been a very reliable car. I'm the original owner and the car only has 44,600 mi on it.

That being said, The fuel mileage has been really poor for quite a while.

Driving local roads I get anywhere from 12.9 to 14.1, and if I drive an hour on the highway, it gets me up to 17.

According to the specs, I should be getting 20 city/30 highway.

Over the years I have been known to drive the car down to E for a day or two so I'm wondering if either the fuel pump or the injectors need replacement.

The spark plugs were replaced nearly 3 years ago when one of the cylinders misfired, and the cabin air filters were replaced as of 12/3/20.

I've spoke to several Honda dealerships regarding the issue, and was told that it only needs a cleaning, yet I'm deeply concerned that I've been told that it might not increase the mileage.

Any input would be extremely helpful.

Pressure clean the fuel injectors. Clean the MAF sensor and change the air filter. Regarding your habit of driving on empty gas tank, it is wise not to do it unless you want to replace your fuel pump more often than normal.

Update:

Tonight I reset the trip computer for the second time since I've owned the car (I reset it for the first time last January). Tonight I took a roughly hour long drive back and forth on the highway and got up to 29.8 mpg.

I tend to mostly drive local roads, which have plenty of stop and go traffic. Could this be an explanation for the poor fuel mileage in the city?
