Scotty,
I have an appointment next week to change my front and rear differential oil and 4x4 transfer case oil on my 2013 Tacoma V6 with 47k on it. Does the oil have to be genuine Toyota oil or will another brand be ok?

I personally prefer to use OEM fluids for things involving the differential and transmission. But as long as you stick with the correct viscosity fluid, it should work perfectly fine.

what is the difference in price? If it's a only a few bucks then use the OEM

As long as the fluid viscosity is the same as factory, save some money and use something else.
