Scotty,

I have an ‘11 Honda Civic Si. It has been sitting parked outside of my house for six months due to an electrical problem that no mechanic has been able to figure out. I was driving down the road when all my gauges cut out - got it back to my friend’s house and it wouldn’t start. I towed it to one mechanic and he changed out a few fuses and the car fired up and drove fine. I drove it about twenty miles home on the interstate and stopped for gas with no issues, but sure enough it did the same exact thing when I got in my drive way. I had it towed to another mechanic, who changed the same fuses (they said it was for the gauges and fuel pump) but they kept blowing every time they changed them. They advised that the issue was probably an electrical issue outside their field of knowledge and sent the car back to me with a refusal to work on it.

What do you think the issue may be? I would love to sell the car soon but would like to know what the potential issue might be so I can advise any future owners of it. Unfortunately I do not have the time nor money to fix/troubleshoot the issue myself, and have since replaced the vehicle with a newer car for daily transportation.

Thank you in advance!

You need to trace down a short circuit somewhere.  Is this the original fuel pump?  If so, it's probably seizing up and blowing the fuse.  Time to replace.
