Good afternoon,
My family has a 2011 Honda Pilot with 90k miles that developed an issue where the rear tailgate is registering as open even though the tailgate is closed. I suspect the sensor in the tailgate is bad, but I don't know which part to get or how to fix this issue.

Hopefully this helps.
You may want to check if water is getting inside the tailgate.
Oh yeah, there was a leak, but it was found and fixed.
the damage might have already been done
