Considering buying a 2011 Hyundai Genesis with 100k miles for $7,000. Vehicle would be for wife transporting young children and for her business. Need the car to be safe and reliable. Thoughts?

100k is the end of its life so why throw 7 grand out the door for no reason?
Stay away from the genesis. The cars have engine cam issues in which they wear out and start rattling.

While Hyundais/Kias are known to make it to 100,000 miles, beyond that they are really prone to issues. The longevity reliability curve between those and the Toyota’s really start to diverge as the miles rack up well beyond 100,000 miles. If I were you, I’d go with Toyota; you might pay a little more but you’ll be happier in the long run.
