2011 mazda 6 transmission fluid colour (followup)

Hey all,

I recently asked a question on here about any preventative maintenance I should do on my 2011 mazda 6, 4 cylinder automatic with 107k miles. I was told to look into draining/refilling my transmission fluid, so I decided to check the color of my atf with the dipstick and a paper towel (image). What health is my transmission in? How much longer should I expect it to last me? Is that color normal for a car with this amount of miles?

Thank you in advance!

No, it is not too late. I would drain and fill it. Do not flush it.

@yaser
I tend to go by condition of the fluid... if real dark and any burnt smell, leave it. But yea, I would want it changed.

He just uploaded the picture of his ATF

If no burnt smell (doesn't look like it! lol), I would change along with filter based on just that pic... the filter medium will add to your knowledge of the transmission life expectancy.

edit.  And thanks for making the comment ITWT, I didn't get a note that an image was added, for what it's worth :  )

Hey all! I recently got a hand-me-down 2011 mazda 6, 4 cylinder automatic, 107k miles. It's been babied its whole life. Any preventative maintenance I should do to keep it running for as long as possible? I need this car to last me at least 5 more years, the more the better. (Note: not afraid to do work myself, already did valve gasket cover myself). Would it be too late to swap out the transmission fluid?

@thequarterpounder
I'd start with the ATF filter, oil changes, coolant drain and fill, and checking the condition of the battery. My 07 just had it's first check engine light for a solenoid and I'm so lucky that the previous owner has done ATF filter maintenance because I know the transmission is still in great shape.
