Hey Scotty, I have a 2011 Nissan Altima with 140,000 miles. Should I change the Transmission fluid?

Yes. Do not cheap out on transmission fluid and change it regularly.

rebuilding a modern CVT is hell (and the ones in Nissans are known to fail prematurely), and although oil won’t fix serious design flaws - it will prevent some valve body issues and will prevent some bearing failures.

transmission fluid does a lot more then lubricating the drive belt and cones, it’s actually used to preform most of the different functions (that specific one uses an electric steeper motor for some of those)

I would check the condition first and make sure it’s not overly burnt even if you are just going to be doing a drain and fill

Make sure it isn't burnt and then do a drain and fill, don't flush
