07 4runner ltd 227k
What is better: 07 4runner or 07 Rav4 v6?
230,000 miles is a lot even for any car… I mean it if you're lucky can probably go another 70,000 but I personally wouldn’t take that gamble if you plan on driving it a lot…
IMO, $6,000 Is too much.

@Kerem
Here they’re even more crazy for Toyota SUVs… I’ve seen 250,000 mile JF cruisers go for $25,000!
It’s insanity how much people want old Toyota SUVs…
@Dan
Why can't the people in your state just buy fj cruisers in a different state for a couple 1000 less. Are all the states around yours affected by ToyotaResaleDisease? What state is that?
I’m not in the states, and let’s say going to neighboring countries isn’t a good idea unless you’re interested in Peugeot 405s or LADA 6 😅
Oh Sorry I thought you were in the US.
CNBC ran a story back in 2019 how FJ Cruisers were third highest selling vehicle is the US used car market. In the UAE and Egypt they’re considered status symbols.
Here in Israel they aren’t really a status symbol…
i mean after all it’s just a car that a college student could probably afford it he would really want one…
I generally do not get how cars can be status symbols unless it’s new and flashy…
lol in lots of countries if you get a 4X4 thats a status symbol
@Kerem
That’s kinda funny… y’know I didn’t think mall crawlers are still a thing around the world.
I really don’t got get people that get SUVS as family hollers, That’s what sporty mini-vans are for…
I had one and I miss it so much! having 0 blind spots, a lot of torque, high sitting position and the glass windshield and goes form the bonnet to right above your head.
The closest looking thing to the that Citroen is probably the Mazda 5, which didn't sell much and discontinued. SUVs are what people drive here. I talk to some people and its almost like they don't consider a sedan or hatchback an automobile.Best selling vehicle is the Ford F series. #2 is the Chevy Silverado, #3 is the Ram truck series, #4 rav4, #5 Cr-V. No sedans in top 5.
@Kerem Interesting here it’s between wagons, raised wagons, hatchbacks and sedans (as a more aesthetic less practical option)
The Skoda Octavia and Suprb are super popular case they feel like proper luxury cars but cost a lot less then the Corolla:
The typical 2010s tiny raised European hatchback (Seat Arona)
A low to the ground funky reliable hatchback
A raised cheap wagon made by Kia
And this one is super popular, the new Ford Focus offers twice the power of its main rivals at a lower price point. 185-220 horsepower out of a fun raised wagon
But my favorite out of the best selling cars is definitely the Captur, a turbo diesel with a dual clutch. They easily go 200,000 miles without major issues (they have been sold in the US with terriable engines and trannies as the Juke)
And another beautiful diesel car is the Peugeot 2008. The DuraTorq engines can easily last 250,000 miles and it’s an AISIN 8 speed automatic. (It’s very cool cause it’s very gimmicky, for example the driver gauge cluster is a screen with a 3D effect like on the Nintendo 3DS)
Well, if you could get a RAV4 V6 with a lot less miles for a similar price I'd get the RAV4 over the 4runner all day long because of how overpriced the 4runners are. Have you considered the Toyota Highlander?
Highlanders have awful mpg, are really expensive, and aren't really as speical as a 4runner is.
Oh I see. Well correct, but don't expect any better from the 4runner when it comes to mpg. Do you need an SUV? I could recommend the last generation Toyota Matrix as they are pretty fun to drive. But your on the right track with the RAV4 V6.
It's also hard to find good Rav's for cheap. They also go for like 9 grand. Ughh. I hate toyota resale value... You think this Rav4 is good:
https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/JTMBK32VX76019238
"Accident reported"
"At least 1 open recall"
"Damage reported with another motor vehicle"
4k is very low price for a RAV4 there might be something seriously wrong with it as it has been in an accident.
I'll look around for you maybe. The plus of looking for a RAV4 is that there are tons of them
dude it is hard finding used cars- I think this is why people buy new ones
It would be so epic if scotty did a video on a v6 rav4. In his test drive, it would fly like a rocket from 0-60. The only thing that makes 3rd gen rav so special is the v6.
Here are some listings I found (btw i didn't look through them to see if they are good or not)

Avoid ones with accidents/salvage titles
The third one was nice, but had 180k on it. The others were damaged
Oh, I'd look for cars using cargurus, there are a lot of cars there.
Have you at least gotten a compression test??
Idk what that is
A compression test is when the spark plugs are removed and a pressure gauge is connected to the spark plug hole. The engine is then turned over for a few seconds and the gauge reads the pressure in each cylinder. It gives you a fairly representative picture of the condition of the engine.
