I have a 2011 Rav4 with a single cd player am/fm radio. Recently, sometimes when i press '1' for an fm radio preset, the unit shuts off and ejects the CD!! Also, the volume seems to have a mind of its own. Goes up when I'm turning it down, down when I'm turning it up, etc.
Base model, just over 112K original miles.
Time for a stereo upgrade? Rest of car works fine, other than the instrument light for the AC/temp control dial (manual) works when it wants to. Feels a little loose in the dash, but works fine.
Check all fuses, relays and wiring within the radio.
Sometimes buttons and knobs just get years of built up grime inside and start malfunctioning, or something got spilled on it.
An electronics repair shop may be able to restore it.
Time for a stereo upgrade?
