Hey Scotty. Love your videos. I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS with a 1.8 ltr engine. 89,000 miles. I scan the car with Mode-6 on Bludriver all of the time. Been doing it for years. Suddenly, I started seeing a few misfires reported. I changed the spark plugs and coils. My mileage has actually gone up, and the car runs better, but Mode-6 is still reporting a few misfires. I don't feel any symptoms of a misfire, (never did even before) and the check engine light doesn't come on. They range in 1 or two cylinders per drive cycle. I'm tempted to just ignore it since i don't feel any symptoms of a misfire and my mileage is still great. Do you have any advice, (other than get rid of my Hyindai. I know you hate those cars). If I wasn't interested in the cars computer I wouldn't have even known the computer thought there was a misfire.
What are the codes please?
Have you checked our FAQ?
There are no codes. No codes, no symptoms. They just show up on Mode-6. I wouldn't even know they were there if I wasn't always scanning my car's computer with Mode 6
If no codes are set, then the misfire rate is low (less than around 2% for a given cylinder).
It's not bad enough to be a serious issue .... yet.
.
You can keep driving, but I would find the source of the misfire before it does become a problem and start doing some damage.
Yeah, no codes, no symptoms. I wouldn't even know they were happening. I've replaced the plugs and coils. There's no real pattern to which cylinders it happens on. Any ideas what would be causing it? I may have to wait for it to throw a code to really track down the cause.
Fuel trims might provide some clues.
Again, please refer to the FAQ
If there's no codes and no symptoms, I'd try to contact/inform Blue Driver (and check if there is an update to their software).
I've confirmed it with another scan tool. It's not just bludriver.
