Please, please help me! My 1995 Honda Civic EX, 1.5L, automatic trans (282,000 miles) is trying to tell me something and I can find no translator to help! The car runs fine: engine runs normally, transmission runs normally. But the car is blinking at me. Once a second, the parking lights blink on and off. (No, the hazard function is not on). On the operator display, the gear position indicator blinks as well (although the turn signals are not blinking unless I turn on the signals muself). What I mean is if it's in park, the P blinks, if it's in reverse, the R blinks and so on. The clock is blinking too. This happens 30 times, so for 30 seconds, and then there's a pause, and then it starts again. Can anyone tell me what it means and how to fix this? Thank you for reading!!!
Have you done any troubleshooting?
Did you check the fuses and relays?
Did you check for error codes?
@imperator just want to do a follow-up on this unusual issue. It is all fixed and it is all thanks to the linked source in the resonder's post. I did the jumper to check the codes. It returned a 92 amd a 51 code. I didn't have to do anything more than that for the car to stop clicking at me. The codes were for a heated oxygen sensor and the SMS power source. It cleared the codes and the problem didn't come back, so I figure it's fixed.
Further down that linked thread there were instructions on how to run diagnostics on the SMS and ABS systems - both lights on the dash wouldn't go out. I followed the procedures for those and the lights are off!

It returned a 92 amd a 51 code ...The codes were for a heated oxygen sensor and the SMS power source.
DTC 5-1
This code indicates an internal failure of SRS unit. Replace SRS unit.
DTC 9-2 (With NEC SRS Unit):
It cleared the codes and the problem didn't come back, so I figure it's fixed.
Clearing codes just clears codes, not the the reason for the code. If a unit is failed, it's failed. They may go away for a while, but don't be surprised when they come back.
