This one has me confused and I suspect electrical
2011 Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 turbo petrol, manual gearbox, Australia delivery, 210,000 km. Owned since new.
When starting off I change from first gear into second gear and let the clutch out the engine remains running until i touch the gas pedal. When i touch th gad pedal the engine cuts out. Requiring key off/on to restart but will not drive in second gear as the engine just cuts out.
To drive the vehicle requires skipping second gear going from first gear to third gear which is dangerous where I live on a hill. {black}:scared:
Not bringing up any lights on the dash.
I'm pulling my hair out with this one. {black}:razz:

- Well to me it pretty much sounds like second gear is shot I went to a German car that way and I just drove it for first gear to third gear and bypass second. The only thing that makes sense the second gear is shot and stalling the engine out when you use it
Thanks Scotty. The engine keeps running in second gear and only stalls or cuts out when i try to accelerate by touching the gas pedal
Would the ebgine still run like this if second gear was shot? This hadn't occurred to me at all. {black}:idontknow:
