2011 Toyota Sequoia clicking noise

My wife’s 2011 Toyota Sequoia 189k miles has a loud clicking that is more prominent when the engine is cold. I’ve been told it’s the lifters sticking. 🤷🏼‍♂️ What’s the fix? Not wanting to spend a lot of money.

The cause of this problem is the VVT or variable Valve Timing Toy has used through the years..the deal is that this valve bleeds down and causes the engine to make noises until the oil pressure is up and the engine warms up.

I present you Kilmers rendition of this situation.
