My wife has an automatic 2016 Honda HRV with 59,000 miles on it. She had her oil/filter changed today and the mechanic told her she needs to have her transmission fluid changed. Should she agree with him or wait a bit longer before changing it..Thanks, Bobbio
Doesn't hurt to change early either, as long as it ain't that "lifetime transmission fluid" bs. Preventive maintenance is always more worth it in the long run.
I agree
You should look in your manual. Does it say 60,000mi ?
HRV relies on the "maintenance minder" to give codes for oil, trans and other issues.
From what I have read the average code for the HRV to change the transmission fluid is around 45,000 miles.
The code is #3, and will show up as "A3" or "B3".
If the code hasn't shown up till now then your wife is a pleasant driver.
Thanks, appreciate it..
I would change it. some say every30-80k miles but I think every 60k is good. easy preventative maintenance. just do the research and make sure you're putting the right grade of fluid back in.
WIll take it in when I get that code...Thanks..
