Manual or automatic?

Just out of curiosity, which " back plate of the transmission" are you referring to?

The back right of the transmission

and its a automatic

So you're probably talking about a 4L60e transmission. Lucky for you, it is one the most common transmissions out there on the road. There should be tons of them available at very reasonable prices.

And double-lucky for you, you are close to one of the best tranny shops. Almost all they do is 4L60e and they know them inside and out. Precision Transmissions in Amarillo. Give them a call. You can see their handywork on Youtube.

I'm still not sure which plate you mean and I can't imagine how it would melt. Would you happen to have a photo?

Thank you a lot dude! Fr fr man i was stressing like Im a highschool student that just bought their first car all in cash and i thought i just lost so much money… but i can take it to the shop you mentioned or pull one out a junkyard my granpa has all the stuff to change out a transmission or even just pull everything out the chassie lol but thank you a lot! Does a chevy blazer have that transmission?

Um im pretty sure my grandpa said it was the seal or something like that i can go out there and take a picture all j know is i was goin down the road and i smelled fluid and j seen fluid goin out the back of my truck (transmission fluid)

Yes. 1st generation Trailblazer (2002-2009) has that transmission. Don't forget module programming.

If you don’t mind telling me whats is a module programming and what do i do to make it work in my truck? Thank you a lot btw man I honestly didn’t think anyone was gonna resopond to this

We respond to everyone.
The transmission is controlled electronically so it needs a computer module to run it. There will be a transmission control module (TCM). Or sometimes it's combined with the engine computer and called a Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The computer adapts to the transmission as it wears down to make it shift properly.
So when you swap the transmission (and it should come from a similar year vehicle), you might need to grab the module with it. The module then needs to be programmed with your VIN so the trucks accepts it. (just like organ transplants).
Or, you might be able to use your current module. But it needs to be reset, so that it accepts the new transmission which needs different line pressures etc.
This resetting/programming needs to be done by a shop, or a savvy person, who has the right equipment, called a Tech2.
You should give Precision a call and ask for advice. It's a family run business, and those guys are super nice. They seem like really kind , old fashioned Southern people who just want to help and won't try and rip you off. Explain your situation, and they'll tell you which trannies you can or can't use, and what you'll need to do.
