QUESTION hey scotty what can cause my vw 2011 2.5L jetta to start jerking and run rough almost like misfires when started cold and goes away when warmed up ? I have a resonator that has something broken from inside and rattles which im getting fixed soon do you think that is whats causing this issue?
Some cars just do that when it's cold. Also gas companies use a cold weather fuel additive package. That can make vibrations worse. The motor mount might be wearing out. Do you have any drivability issues. When it's cold do you have a fluctuating rpm.

I'll start by fixing that exhaust leak because if you have an exhaust leak that can cause the oxygen sensors to give wrong data and make the air fuel mixture incorrect. But if not that it can be dirty fuel injectors dirty mass air flow sensor you can clean the mass air flow sensor with spray mass air flow sensor cleaner
