Yes, I am from Toronto. I have the above car which has 70,000 Km. BMW says no to changing the transmission oil and filter, in fact when I call the dealer they say they don't even offer the service. How realistic is this and would you recommend doing it and at what time should I do it. I do not drive the car hard at all. Would love to get your advice on this.

Thanks, gents. I can do it myself, just wanted to make sure it was ok. Dealers are trained to say don't ever change it as it will kill the transmission, which doesn't make any logical sense.
Yup...every 50k miles would be about right.
Change the oil and filter at around 5000 miles and tell the dealer to go pound sand. They obviously couldn't find their own butt with both hands.
He's talking about transmission fluid and filter, so 30K-40K mile change intervals would be more appropriate, but otherwise your comment stands. He should find an independent BMW mechanic to do the job if unable to do it himself.
