1977 Scout II, 345, 727 auto trans, original 52k miles, doing a restomod. I’m 3rd owner, know the other 2, it’s sat since 2012. Should I replace all gaskets w/new valve seals & springs, just add AT205, or ? Fenders are off, now’s the time to pull it if needed. Trans getting B&M shift kit & low stall converter. Installing EFI w/OEM 2bbl manifold.

The valve stem seal replacement is the correct way to do the job. AT205 is just a temporary fix that won't last. Do a compression test to see if the rings are still good. You can use compressed air with each piston at TDC to hold the valve closed to replace the seals.

do you want to do it right from the start, or do you want to cut corners now and cry later?
