So I bought this Civic with 15k miles on it with a 5 speed automatic transmission. It's a 2012, super clean car. I noticed yesterday it made a winding noise in reverse. It sounds exactly like manual transmissions do in reverse. This is my first Honda so maybe this is normal for Honda autos but see the video below to see what I mean:

According to them, it sounds to be normal, (especially considering the mileage you got on the car).
Have you changed your transaxle lubricant? The vehicle is 20 years old.
It's 10 years old, but I don't know if it's been changed in that time. I bought a month ago and I haven't done it yet. The fluid still looks very clear & red.
Use only Honda brand fluid.
